Dreamscape combines strategy, engagement, and imaginative reading passages to create a fun, curriculum-aligned literacy game for grades 3 - 8; and it's FREE! It's like the Prodigy Math game but for ELA.

Quill is a free program that provides over 700 digital writing and grammar activities. Students have access sentence combining practice, proofreading passages, sentence writing exercises, and more while receiving instant feedback on their work. It also syncs with Google Classroom.

With 1000+ assignments and prompts (plus the ability to create your own), Writable helps teachers focus their writing instruction while saving time on prep, feedback, and grading. It, too, syncs with Google Classroom. Not free, unfortunately.

Project Gutenberg offers over 59,000 free eBooks with a focus on secondary and college students. Choose to download them or read them online. You will find the world’s great literature here, with older works (classics) to support instruction. No fee or registration, and it is completely free to readers!
